Whilst getting back into one of my weekly morning walks today I was amazed to see how much hedgerows and fields have grown these past few weeks. I was captivated by a few tall, but what looked small amongst the towering grass, daisies. In a vast field, where the blades of grass stretch as far as the eye can see, a tiny daisy stood tall, looking determined to grow and bloom against all odds. My mind left the sound of my music playlist for a moment and thought about how this small flower embodies resilience, beauty, and the relentless pursuit of growth among what must feel like an oppressive jungle. Could this be me right now? (could this be you right now?!) - working really hard to push yourself into a better place, striving for success, accomplishment, achievement; but most of all - happy. Figuring out how to stand tall against all odds, take risks, accept change, learn from things that don\u2019t work out, or challenge us, to keep pushing forward. Be a mum, wife, sister, daughter, friend, mentor; yet take time out for myself free from guilt. <\/p>

Todays\u2019 encounter led me to delve into the inspiring story of the daisy and its journey to rise above the grass, defying the challenges it faces along the way.<\/p>

  1. A Seed of Hope: Our story begins with a small daisy seed nestled in the soil beneath the grass. Despite being surrounded by taller and stronger plants, this seed carries within it an unwavering belief in its own potential. It absorbs the nourishment from the earth and patiently waits for the right moment to sprout.<\/p><\/li>

  2. The Struggle for Light: As the daisy seedling begins to grow, it faces its first major obstacle\u2014the lack of sunlight. The thick grass canopy overshadows the delicate flower, depriving it of the vital energy it needs to thrive. Undeterred, the daisy bends and twists, stretching towards any available ray of sunlight, persevering against the odds.<\/p><\/li>

  3. Battling for Resources: In its quest to rise above the grass, the daisy encounters another challenge\u2014limited access to essential resources. With other plants competing for water, nutrients, and space, the daisy must use its adaptive abilities to survive. Its roots dive deeper into the soil, searching for sustenance, while its slender stem grows taller, reaching for the nourishing rain above.<\/p><\/li>

  4. Embracing Individuality: Amongst the sea of green, the daisy's brilliant white petals stand out, showcasing its individuality. Instead of blending into the crowd, the daisy embraces its uniqueness and radiates its own beauty. It serves as a reminder that embracing one's differences and staying true to oneself can be a powerful way to stand out and make an impact.<\/p><\/li>

  5. Weathering Storms: Throughout its journey, the daisy faces storms, harsh winds, and unpredictable weather. The relentless forces of nature threaten to uproot the delicate flower. Yet, the daisy stands strong, bending but never breaking. It teaches us the importance of resilience and adaptability in navigating life's storms.<\/p><\/li>

  6. Blooming Against All Odds: Finally, after a period of growth and resilience, the daisy reaches its ultimate goal\u2014to bloom above the grass. Its vibrant petals unfold, revealing a beautiful testament to its perseverance. The daisy becomes a beacon of hope, inspiring others to embrace their own journeys and overcome obstacles.<\/p>

    For me today the daisy in a field reminded me of the power of determination, resilience, and self-belief. It\u2019s story teaches us that even in the face of adversity, growth is possible. Like the daisy, we can rise above the challenges that surround us, embracing our unique qualities and blooming in our own time.
